In March 2006 we sailed to the Bay of Islands, spending a day at Great Barrier Island and another at Whangarei Heads taking students aboard for the Day Skipper Experience. We spent a week in the Bay of Islands, then sailed back to Auckland to refit and then south to the Bay of Plenty. There we stayed a week in Tauranga working with schools there and then sailed south to Whakatane. The Whakatane Coastguard did a marvelous job ferrying students across the bar and out to our boat. A great sailing experience for all. We are preparing to repeat this programme in February/March 2007
